The Chairman, Articulate Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN), Otunba Nurudeen Aina has joined the adherents of Islamic faith across Nigeria, particularly in Ogun State to welcome this year's Ramadan.
Alowonle in a message signed by his SSA on Media, Onayiga Azeez, urged Nigerians to take the opportunity of this period to pray unto Allah over the unrest created by the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.
Part of the message reads, "It is a great pleasure and honour to felicitate with Nigerians, especially the Muslim Ummah on the start of the glorious month of Ramadan. No doubt, we can make good use of this period to pray for God's mercy which is presently what we all need to survive the deadly virus that has taken the world to its knees".
Alowonle further enjoined Muslims to take solace in the teachings of Prophet Mohammed (SAW) by reaching out to the poor and vulnerable during this fasting period.
The message reads further, " Ramadan is upon us and as we observe the fast and abstinence which are the hallmark of Ramadan, I join my Muslim brothers and sisters in reflection and thought for the less privileged in the society. We were encourage by Prophet Mohammed (SAW) in the Qur'an to use this period of increased piety to engage in deep introspection to the end that we may increase our capacity to empathize with others. May Almighty God receive and answer our prayers".
Finally, he urged everyone to stay safe and adhere strictly to the safety measures and guidelines announced by the World Health Organisation (WHO) towards containing coronavirus.
